          Screening for retinal problems<\/h3>\n

          How to use the Amsler grid:
          Stand about 25 cm from your screen, wearing your usual glasses or contact lenses if necessary.<\/p>\n

           <\/p>\n

          Test one eye at a time, covering the other without exerting pressure, then fix the center point of the grid.<\/p>\n

          Normally :<\/span><\/p>\n

                        Red\/green test<\/span><\/p>\n

                        Myopic or hypermetropic?<\/h3>\n

                         <\/p>\n

                        How to perform the red\/green test: Stand about 2 meters from the screen. Hide one eye, then observe the letters appearing on the two colored backgrounds.<\/p>\n

                         <\/p>\n

                        Indicate which color you think is sharpest.Then hide the other eye and repeat the same exercise.<\/p>\n

                         <\/p>\n

                        Results:<\/span><\/p>\n

                          \n
                        • If the figures on the red background appear sharper<\/strong>, this suggests myopia<\/strong>. With glasses, this would indicate a need for stronger correction<\/strong>; a hyperopic person would then be over-corrected<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                    Astigmatism test<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    Test your astigmatism<\/h3>\n

                                     <\/p>\n

                                    On the screen, you see four small squares made up of parallel black lines, oriented differently. If some lines appear blurrier or more distorted than others, this may indicate astigmatism. <\/p>\n

                                     <\/p>\n

                                    To perform the test, stand at a normal distance from the screen. First cover the right eye (without pressing), observe the figure with the left eye, then repeat with the other eye.
                                    Make sure your screen’s brightness and contrast are correct. If in doubt, print out the test and hang it facing you, or make an appointment with a vision care professional. <\/p>\n

                                            1. Make yourself comfortable, at a distance where you can see the screen effortlessly.<\/li>\n
                                            2. Keep both eyes open: this test is performed with binocular vision, as in everyday life.<\/li>\n
                                            3. Look at each circle and try to identify the number inside.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                              Take your time: if a number seems blurred, hard to distinguish or invisible, it’s important information.<\/p>\n
